Argonne National Laboratory is about 45 minutes by car from each of the two major Chicago airports, O'Hare and Midway. Argonne is not near public transportation; therefore, it is strongly recommended that attendees rent a car while they're at the meeting. Driving from O'Hare Airport to Argonne:
Drive east (toward Chicago) on Interstate 190 to the exit for Interstate 294 south (toward Indiana). Go south on Interstate 294--this is a toll road so be sure you have U.S. currency with you to pay the tolls. Continue on Interstate 294 to the exit for Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis), then take the southbound Cass Avenue exit (273A) off Interstate 55. Northgate Road, the entrance to the Laboratory's main gate, is on the right.
Driving from Midway Airport to Argonne:
Take Cicero Avenue north to the entrance to Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis), which will be on your left. Take the southbound Cass Avenue exit (273A) off Interstate 55. Northgate Road, the entrance to the Laboratory's main gate, is on the right.
