Meeting Information

1. Meeting site
   Tutorial sessions and the EPICS meeting will be held in the seminar hall in the KEK 3rd building. The KEK 3rd building is a building No. 10 in the KEK site map ( http://ccis1.kek.jp/info/userguide/sitemap-kek.html ). The seminar hall is located on the 1st floor of the 3rd building.
   
   
2. Program / Meeting timetable
   
   1. Session time
      Tutorial sessions and the collaboration meeting will start 9:00 every morning and end before 17:30. See the program page for detail of the meeting program.
      
   2. coffee break
      There will be a coffee break during the meeting.
      morning: 10:30 - 11:00
      afternoon: 15:30 - 16:00
      
   3. registration/service desk
      The registration/service desk will be open at 8:30 on Monday morning until 16:00. The desk will be open during the following hours in the rest of the meeting(Tue.- Fri.).

3. Preparing Presentation
   OHP, 35 mm slide projector and PC with video projector will be available for the presentation in the seminar hall. Microsoft Office 2000(incl. Power Point 2000), Netscape Communicator 4.5, Acrobat Reader and X-server program will be available on the PC. ( If you prefer to use Macintosh, please contact [email protected]).
   
   We would like to publish presented materials in the meeting on the WWW. It would be greatly appriciated if you could bring the files used for the presentation to the meeting.
   
   
4. Registration.
   The registration desk will be open in the lobby the KEK 3rd building on Monday. The registration desk will be open in the meeting room of the 3rd building, which is in front of the seminar hall, from Tuesday to Friday( see 1-3). All the attendants should register themselves at the registration desk to receive the final program.
   
   Registration fee is JPY5,000- for those who will come to the Banquet and is JPY1,000- for those who will NOT come to the Banquet. Please pay registration fee at the registration desk when you arrived at the meeting.
   
   
5. Banquet
   "Banquet" will be held at "San sui-Tei" on Wed. May 17. Bus to the banquet will leave the entrance of the 3rd building . "Banquet" will actually be a buffet style party. You can enjoy both Japanese and Western style cuisine.
   
   
6. Accommodation
   Accommodations for those who sent us the hotel reservation form have already been reserved at KEK dormitory or at the Urban hotel.
   Those who will stay KEK dormitory can pay their room charge at the registration/service desk[ see sect. 1 of this note for the time when the desi will be open]. A single room without bath will cost you JPY740- per night. The rooms in the guest house will cost you JPY1,740- per night per person.
   
   
7. NATT'S(Airport Liner to Narita Airpot) reservation
   You can make a reservation of Aiport Liner NATT's from Tsukuba to Narita at the the registration/service desk. Please come to the desk while it is open (see item 1 in this memo).
   
   
8. Currency
   Currency exchange is not available at each hotel. It is available at banks around the Tsukuba center but they are open between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Attendants from abroad are strongly recommended to exchange their currency to Japanese Yen at the airport.
   
   
9. Meals
   There are a cafeteria and a restaurant in the KEK campus[No. 2 and No.3 in the Site map]. They are open from Monday to Friday.
   
   Restaurants bussines hour is10:00〜20:30 from Monday to Friday. It also open for the breakfast on Saturday, 8:10〜 9:00.
   Cafeteria is open for:

   Lunch　 11:30〜13:30
   Dinner 17:00〜19:00
   
   At the entrance of the cafeteria, you will see samples of meal. Then you need to buy a ticket from an automated ticketing machine. You will pick up your choice of meal with a bowl of rice and a cup of "MISO" soup at the counter. Put your ticket on the counter. Take your seat wherever available and enjoy meal.
   
   Please note that both the cafeteria and restaurant are closed on Sunday. It will be better to get something to eat before you come to KEK, if you will arrive KEK on Sunday evening.
   
   
10. Meeting Photo
    We will take a photo of the participants just before a lunch time of Wed. May 17. A photo will be presented on the meeting Web site.
