Mozilla Code Management
Mozilla.org uses the following code management model:
- The application is split into many separate modules.
- Each module has a designated ôownerö who has ultimate responsibility for it and its contents.
- An owner may nominate several peers to help him manage it.
- The module owner decides whether or not to accept patches and merge them into the source tree, or may delegate this task.
- The owner may also vouch for other trusted individuals to allow them to be given write access to the central CVS repository.
- A web-site is maintained by the module team for information about the moduleÆs status, updates etc.
- Various newsgroups exist for discussion of different modules.
