Drawbacks
 | This uses lots of cycles through channel access gets to fill the array so it is not appropriate where your IOC is busy and your network is not |
| You must keep the file that specifies the channels synchronized with arrays - it contains the information for correlating array elements with specific channels |
| An alternative approach could be done in the device support, particularly if all channels are coming thorough the same hardware drivers - then the problem is to coordinate specific hardware channels with particular pieces of instrumentation |
