Finding, Deploying and Managing EPICS I/O Support

This talk shows how the EPICS application environment and build system are set up to encourage modularity and re-use of the building-block parts of EPICS (device, driver and record support).  It explains how an IOC can easily make use of software that is developed by a third party, and how new versions of that external software can be installed and used without disrupting IOCs that are not ready to use the new version. Finally it describes how to go about looking for software when introducing a new kind of hardware I/O device, and how to deploy that software if it does already exist.
