Hi Dirk, As Michael said you need the recursive flag, the Jenkins git plugin has a check box for that. You should also use the git Advanced behaviors to clean the working tree, either before or after checkout. I’d be happy to share my Jenkins configurations if you want to see them.
I did not know about submodules. I will have a look at the Jenkins configuration.
BTW we explicitly do not support VxWorks 5.x any more, the compilers are just too old, and your finding that some of the earlier 6.x compilers don’t work either doesn’t surprise me. It is not reasonable to expect developers to write new code against ancient compilers.
I do not expect EPICS 7 to compile with 5.5. But it surprised me that at the beginning even 6.7 did not work.
Maybe it is possible to use earlier compilers without PV access. Is there an option to skip PVA for some architectures but not for all?
E.g. WITHOUT_PVA=YES in CONFIG.Common.vxWorks6.2-ppc604

I would be far easier if we (Base developers) could have quicker notice about build issues. Michael https://jenkins.aps.anl.gov/view/EPICS%20Base/I am trying to set up a Jenkins server here. But when it builds EPICS, it only installs some scripts but does not compile any code. With the tar file it compiles. What is wrong? I use the core/master branch.
