Hej,
I am chasing a problem that all PV's are shown as "Disconnected" in CSS.
The pink overlay field.
The values as such are updated, so they are not fully disconnected.
I'm confused. The behavior you describe seems like an INVALID alarm
severity. The fact that the values are updating means that the CA
connection is in fact being established.
Can you check one effected PV with command line 'camonitor' for both
Base versions? Are there any differences in the outputs?
Also, while it might not be relevant in this case, when reporting a
potential CA connectivity problem please include some details about
relevant settings (EPICS_* environment variables, and cs-studio CA
perfs.), and the network topology (IOC and cs-studio on the same host,
or different).
I can have 2 machines (one with CSS, the other one running EPICS IOC),
(Case A)
or I can have the same effect on one machine running both CSS and the EPICS IOC.
(Case B)
Right now i re-test with case B),
CSS Vanilla build (if that exists as such), the EPICS IOC running on the same box.
I can leave CSS open, restart the EPICS ioc with 3.15.2
camonitor is fine, the PV IOC:m1.RBV) goes from <undefied> to 0.
CSS shows Pink.
Shut down the IOC on the same box, camonitor says "disconnected"
Start the IOC using 3.14.12.5 on the same machine.
camonitor goes from <undefined> to 0.
CSS goes from Pink to none-pink after 2 seconds or so.
Nothing in the environment about
#export EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=YES
#export EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=
Nothing special in the Prefs for CSS:
auto_addr_list: on,
conn_tmo: 30
beacon_period: 15.0
repeater_port: 5065
server_port: 5064
max_array_byte: 160000
(This is all default)
#EPICS_* in the shell:
EPICS_BASE=/opt/epics/bases/base-3.14.12.5
EPICS_BASES_PATH=/opt/epics/bases
EPICS_ENV_PATH=/opt/epics/modules/environment/1.2.0/3.14.12.5/bin/centos7-x86_64
EPICS_HOST_ARCH=centos7-x86_64
EPICS_MODULES_PATH=/opt/epics/modules
I'm confused as well.
I'll use Wireshark to re-check, (but that is happening on Friday)

...
If no: I can trace with Wireshark
(But don't have the CA plugin) , add debug code, run gdb.
