Hej Torsten,

I am chasing a problem that all PV's are shown as "Disconnected" in CSS.
The pink overlay field.
The values as such are updated, so they are not fully disconnected.

Tested under different CSS versions:
CSS 4.1.2 "Vanilla" , CSS 3.xxx from Codac.

Tested under different Linux: Centos 7, Ubuntu 2014 something

The common thing seems to be EPICS base; R3.14.12.5 is OK,
R13.15.2 is not.

A fresh compile with this version:
commit c74eb274740b487e6da87c95050d7b2d452ed583
Merge: 88864e9 5aa1459
Author: Andrew Johnson <[email protected]>
Date: Fri Sep 18 11:51:51 2015 -0500

Merged changes from 3.14 branch, to revno 12604

Seems to have the same problem.

Is this a known issue ?
(If yes: My apologies for SPAM)

If no: I can trace with Wireshark
(But don't have the CA plugin) , add debug code, run gdb.

Any ideas where to start are welcome.

That sounds ... interesting at least.
A quick check using current versions of CS-S (4.2.0) and EPICS (3.15.2) from CODAC Core yields correct behavior. (Of course...)

Questions:
Are your CS-S preferences, namely the CA address list and the CA auto addr list switch, set correctly? Note that changes require a restart of CS-S.
What do the command line tools, run on the same client machine, tell you?
Values being shown with pink alarm color actually sounds like records being in INVALID state, rather than their connection not being done correctly. Can you verify that using the command line tools ("caget -a ...")?

Cheers,
~Ralph
