It's a my Mac laptop behind a NAT (in this case an Apple Time Capsule, if that
matters)
Setting the 2 variables did help, (and Linux didn't complain)
Thank for the help

Hej,
Running BASE_3.15.1 under Mac OS X 10.9 there are lots these messages:
../../../src/ioc/rsrv/online_notify.c: CA beacon routing (connect to
"192.168.0.255:5065") error was "Connection refused"
Is this a known issue ?
The error is almost certainly due to a local firewall rule. You can
avoid the message by setting
export EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO
export EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=192.168.X.255
where X is the subnet (not 0) to which CA broadcasts should be sent.
