Here's my wish list:

* Add dbpf option or new command (e.g. dbcaPutWait) that uses CA to wait
  for completion.

* Add routine to wait for a CA link field or list of fields
  to connect (e.g. dbcaWaitConnected).  See Tech-Talk thread
  <http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/tech-talk/2012/msg02082.php>.

* Make dbpf able to write data to a waveform.  Takes beginIndex argument
  for where in waveform to start writing.

* Add new dbpf routine that writes data read from a file to a waveform.
  The routine accepts the normal recordNameDotFieldName string
  identifying the field to write to.  However, it also takes srcFile,
  srcBeginIndex, destBeginIndex, and length arguments.  These correspond
  to the path to the source file containing the values to be written,
  the index of where in the array of values read from the source file to
  start reading, the index of where in the destination waveform to start
  writing, and the number of values to write, respectively.

* Embed Lua <http://www.lua.org/> in IOC.  This was originally a wish
  for conditional statements in iocsh.  Andrew does not agree with doing
  that, but he is open to embedding Lua into the IOC and adding the
  ability to execute registered iocsh commands from Lua.
