Core Developers:

ITER have asked if we can release an updated version of 3.14.12 before the end 
of the year, and that timing also fits in with the APS shutdown timetable.  I 
have one or two updates waiting in my Inbox which I haven't yet applied, so I 
intend to and try to get them applied this week.  Do any other core developers 
have changes for the 3.14 branch that should be included?

The US Thanksgiving holiday falls on November 22nd this year (that's a week 
from this coming Thursday) and I'll be away from day before, so I'm planning 
to tag a first pre-release on Monday the 19th or Tuesday the 20th.  That would 
make the release candidate available on December 3rd, and the final 3.14.12.3 
release on December 17th.

I apologize for the short notice, but because the 3.14 branch only gets bug 
fixes now I don't expect there to be any major issues.  We can still apply 
changes between the pre-release and the rc1 if anything does come up that 
can't be done by next week.
