Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hello Everyone,
I would like to suggest EPICS for Google summer of Code program.
Registrations are open now until March, 12 (sorry for such a short notice).
In short, Google invites open-source projects (mentoring
organizations) to participate in this program.
Each organization willing to participate should provide a list of
tasks requiring help, and some people are supposed to be mentors.
And Google provides some number of "scholarships" for students
willing to work on these task.
Each students receives $4500 upon successful completion of the project
and mentoring organization receives $500.
I think this might be good opportunity for EPICS community to get some
work done and for some students to work
on EPICS code and get in touch with core-developers.
here is the link for the program description and registration pages:
http://code.google.com/soc/2008/
I assume that EPICS core-team has some wish-list or "feature request"
list, which can be a basis for the list of projects that students
could work on.
I found that one:

may be there are more (?)
Best regards,
Artem Kazakov.
