Hmm...
why is it that the 3.13 App Developer's Guide says (in chapter 9 on page 107) the DSET report() function should have a "FILE fp" as its first argument? Sure enough dbior() (of src/sdb/dbTest.c) doesn't call it that way, and none of base's device supports implements it.
I'm just trying to follow the documentation (for a change) - which seems to send me into a strange direction....
