Dear Jeff,

sorry to hear that you will not be able to make it for the meeting.

Hope the surgery went well and you are already 'running' around the

house again!

I would love to see you and to hear your comments on several ongoing

developments.

As there are:
- New hooks in core for redundancy and the new alarm client on the IOC
- CA Server in Java by Matej
- Your presentation on 'Timed / flavored data '
- Other ongoing developments

If you see a chance - please let us know what you think about some of

the points.

I'll be glad to report your ideas in the workshops/ meeting

Specially your presentation is now missing in the agenda. Any chance

that someone else could present it?

I regret that I am unable to attend the EPICS meeting in Hamburg due to my
needing an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) repair surgery for my knee which
is scheduled for this April 3rd. Yes it was sledding (albeit some airborne
sledding) that I was doing when I initially clobbered my knee. After my
surgery, I will be away from work for two weeks with my leg strapped to the
continuous motion machine 8 hours a day. Needless to say, the surgeon is
advising against my traveling to Europe during the recovery period.
