I committed quite a few files this evening to the R3.14 branch. There are
still some mantis entries which might need to be attended to. The ARM
changes are in, but I have not yet looked at the config files to see if they
are right, and that we are configuring the endian correctly (perhaps we need
to do this from within the config files instead by looking at compiler
defined flags).
Thanks for doing that Jeff, those are things that can be fixed in after
the -pre1 release; I did want to ensure that the basic functionality was
committed so others can help with the fixes necessary for individual
architectures, which is only possible if the scheme outline is actually
in place.
I have not yet looked at the mantis entry for Kay's crash. Maybe other
entries should be addressed also. I will try to mark everything that has a
fix committed to cvs as being fixed in Mantis on Monday.
Ok, that's fine.
Eric discovered a problem with duplicate definitions of the line
typedef unsigned long arrayElementCount;
which the MacOS and Linux compilers (gcc 4) were complaining out; he
took the relevent lines out of two files in rsrv to fix this.
We've also this morning committed a few more small changes to configure
('make runtests' now descends into subdirectories properly so it can be
run from top) and to the perl scripts convertRelease.pl and
makeBaseApp.pl for cygwin.
I will be taking vacation on either Tues or Wed next week (possibly both).
I will be out on Wednesday, and (for the benefit of Ralph and any other
Europeans listening) all of the US-based developers will probably be off
for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and Friday this week.
I think we'll be good to go for the -pre1 release soon, I'm just
checking the Linux, solaris and vxWorks builds now; does anyone have
anything else that should stop this?
The current date for the -RC1 release is December 1st. If we find on
that date that we still have fixes to do, we'll make that a -pre2
release instead and postpone the -RC1 to December 8th.
