Applying these ideas to EPICS, this kind of thing might be what I've always thought was missing from the EPICS documentation. We do have quite a lot of "passionate users", but IMHO they get that way *despite* the documentation we have, not because of it. I guess the training courses help, but I'm sure there's a lot more we could do.
