Ok, we are aware of the following outstanding issues, none of which
Marty or I regard as show-stoppers for the R3.14.8 release:
* USE_POSIX_THREAD_PRIORITY_SCHEDULING = YES on Linux 2.6.x
* HP-UX static build
* One or more problems on 64-bit archs (linux-x86_64, ...?)
* External documentation (stuff not shipped in the .tar file)
Is there anything else that we've missed? If so reply to this email
within the next 20 hours or you might be too late...
Marty will be looking further at #2 when he gets in tomorrow morning;
it's not a show-stopper since R3.14.7 didn't support it anyway, so we
would just turn it off if he can't resolve it. He has added a new
program to libCom/test which reports whether thread scheduling is
priority-based.
I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to do a release immediately before
the US contingent all takes off for the Thanksgiving holiday, but as
long as we warn people about that and the lack of doc's I think we're Ok.
