Wow! That actually did the job!
Thanks a lot!!!!
Seems I missed to patch the CONFIG_SITE stuff for hpux and Linux to
reflect subtle changes in the build system that were introduced last
year. So probably I was actually compiling my mrkSoftTest against an
older version of the libraries while using the current version when
running the exe.
Geee, what a mess. I'm glad that it broke at some time, so it's fixed
now. THANKS!

Try renaming SHRLIB_SEARCH_DIRS to SHRLIB_SEARCH_FULLPATHDIRS in
CONFIG_SITE.Common.hpux-parisc
and CONFIG_SITE.Common.linux-x86.

Don't think so. The -Wl options are correct, it's the -L stuff that
uses the wrong location.

You may need to remove the sort from the following line.
CONFIG.Common.hpux-parisc:RUNTIME_LDFLAGS = -Wl,+b$(subst
$(space),:,$(sort $(SHRLIB_SEARCH_FULLPATHDIRS))),+s
