Mon Oct 28, 2002 - StripTool-2-5-2-0 - evans Removed "..." on Print and Snapshot menu items as they operate without additional user input. Fixed it to build without errors and warnings with CMPLR=STRICT on Solaris. (Required a lot of work to ComboBox.c.) Fixed the algorithm for reading a file on the command line to first try to open the file as specified, then to try to attach paths in STRIP_FILE_SEARCH_PATH. Changed STRIP_FILE_SEARCH_PATH_ENV to be "STRIP_FILE_SEARCH_PATH" instead of "EPICS_DISPLAY_PATH". Changed STRIP_CONFIGFILE_PATTERN to "*.stp" and STRIP_DEFAULT_FILENAME to "StripTool.stp" to implement tech-talk consenus that .stp was the best suffix. Put error printout when DESC field is not found inside #ifdef PRINT_DESC_ERRORS, as these repeating errors are annoying for PVs that don't have DESC fields. Now fails silently, and the DESC doesn't appear in the legend. Fixed XjLegendUpdateItem to not have a minimum name length of 40 chars, as it makes the legend unnecessarily wide. Found others that need to be fixed. Tue Nov 12, 2002 - StripTool-2-5-2-5 - evans It is now running on WIN32. It builds without errors or warnings on Solaris and WIN32. Printing and Snapshot are not implemented on WIN32 since they use xwd. (Alt-PrintScreen can be used instead.) There were major modifications to Makefile.Host to allow multiple platforms. More complete function prototypes were added in FastLabel.c, and K&R syntax was replaced. The Description string is now initialized in all cases, eliminating junk text in the legend. There are still memory leaks. Wed Nov 13, 2002 - StripTool-2-5-2-6 - evans Fixed Dismiss on the Graph popup menu and the window manager delete responses on both the Graph and the Controls to do the same thing: If there is another window open, close this one quietly, otherwise say it can't be closed and ask if you want to exit. Put window_map in Strip_setconnected inside #ifdef RAISE_GRAPH_ON_CONNECTION. Solves the problem of the window popping up in other CDE workspaces whenever there is a reconnection. It is not clear raising the window on reconnection in any case was that desirable. Tue Nov 19, 2002 - StripTool-2-5-2-7 - evans Added capability to call a browser from the Help menu. Added browserHelp.c. Made PATH_MAX be used consistently, replacing MAX_PATH in places. (There is no clear standard.) Fixed it to set the focus to the Plot New Signal text box when the Controls Window starts. Fixed it to not read the default configuration file if one was specified on the command line and read successfully. It was merging the two. Made changes to Makefile.Host to clean up the build and make it easier to override defaults in StripDefines.h. Fri Nov 22, 2002 - StripTool-2-5-2-8 - evans Made Refresh button call Strip_refresh, which refreshes everything, instead of just refreshing data. Fixed the problem of the y scale not changing during zoom if the selected curve wasn't being plotted. Added a resource to make the toggle buttons larger (so you can see when they aren't set and see the checkmark). Fixed it to popup the graph on connection but not on reconnection. Should solve the popping-up-unwanted problem in other CDE workspaces but still be the same as before otherwise. Fixed the DESC logic to use callbacks instead of ca_pend_io. This makes it faster when there is no DESC field (as for Gateway PVs.) and eliminates some legend-drawing problems. Fixed it so the legend doesn't flash. Changed ca_pend_io(STRIP_CA_PEND_TIMEOUT) to ca_poll(). Fixed slightly to significantly rotated and skewed y-axis labels owing to roundoff. Required changing the algorithms in rotated.c. Fixed it so it doesn't get X errors on File_Close and doesn't crash after entering a pv afterwards. Required removing the call to StripDataSource_removecurveall, which doesn't seem to be necessary. Added (XPM/XMU)_(LIB/INC) variables to Makefile.Host, since on HP-UX these libraries do not reside in the standard X11 or Motif areas. Changed several assignment operators in Makefile.Host from "=" to "?=" so that variables can be initialized via CONFIG_EXTENSIONS without being overridden.
