X-Ray Science Division (XSD) Visitor Program

The XSD Visitor Program hosts expert scientists at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) for short stays of 2-3 months. We hope to establish long-term scientific collaborations and/or begin to lay foundations for new scientific initiatives.

Proposals will be judged on the basis of scientific merit and contributions to the mission of the APS, i.e. to enable frontier science using x-rays.

The deadline for proposals is December 1 of each year and decisions will be made in February of the following year.

Proposals consist of the following:

  1. Proposal describing the purpose of the visit, dates of the visit, and the research to be carried out. (2 pages)
  2. Support letter from the XSD host. (1 page)
  3. CV of the visiting researcher.
  4. Budget estimate with breakdown of costs.

Documents in Word or PDF format should be sent to Katie Ostry, katieost at aps.anl.gov by December 1 for visits for the following year.
