General User Program to perform scientific research using numerous techniques within the following categories:
- Spectroscopy
(Soft X-ray, Hard X-ray, Optics/Metrology)

(Hard X-ray Scattering/Diffraction, Macromolecular Crystallography)
- Imaging
(Soft X-ray, Hard X-ray)
Research starts at a
Beamline, using either a Bending Magnet or Insertion Device. Beamlines are located around the APS
Storage Ring. Each Beamline has different technical properties and supported techniques. The following XSD groups operate Beamlines in the sectors indicated:
