Dear Potential Vendor,
Please mark your calendars for the 2008 Users Week at Argonne National Laboratory! Plan to join the scientific communities of the Advanced Photon Source, the Center for Nanoscale Materials, and the Electron Microscopy Center from Monday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 7, to celebrate the forward momentum of research at these Department of Energy facilities.
Many exciting events are planned, including the premier production on Sunday, May 4 of a new play entitled "Picasso Meets Crystallography" that explores the interplay between art and science through the story of an actual meeting between artist Pablo Picasso and crystallographer J. D. Bernal. A wine and cheese reception will be held in the exhibitor areas immediately following the performance. This year's banquet will be held at Chicago's world-renowned Shedd Aquarium, complete with a cocktail reception in the Oceanarium and an introduction to the Shedd's new baby beluga whale. To round out the meeting's strategic focus on scientific advancement, an exciting array of plenary session speakers, poster sessions, and workshops is planned.
Exhibitors will be able to integrate their company's participation in the meeting with these unique and exciting events through a variety of sponsorship opportunities.
This year's exhibitor fee is a flat $1,500 for two attendees for the three-day meeting. (Exhibitor set-up will be on Sunday, May 4, prior to the performance of the play to ensure that vendors can take advantage of traffic during the post-play wine and cheese reception. Booth tear-down will take place the afternoon of Wednesday, May 7.) Additional vendor attendees may register to participate in the meeting for a fee of $100 per person per day (this cost includes lunch and other daily activities but excludes the banquet). The on-line exhibitor registration form and information about how your company can sponsor one or more of this year's meeting events will be available on Friday, January 25th at http://www.aps.anl.gov/Users/Meeting/2008/Exhibitors/.
Remember to register early for your best chance to secure your first-choice location. We're looking forward to experiencing this year's meeting with you!
