Tenth Anniversary of APS Operations Celebration

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of operations at the Advanced Photon Source, a celebration symposium and dinner has been planned during the 2006 APS User Meeting week, to recognize the achievement of seven individuals who played key leadership roles in bringing the APS from concept to completion:
Speakers at the symposium will be Murray Gibson, Rod Gerig, Efim Gluskin, and Denny Mills from the APS, each of whom who will each present talks describing different aspects of “APS –the Path to Success.” The speakers will elaborate on the work of these seven key individuals as it relates to the future of the APS and the light source community more generally. Registration is not required to attend the symposium.
The celebration will continue with a dinner, which will be followed by informal speeches recognizing the accomplishments of the honorees. Registration for this dinner celebration is included as a separate line on the registration for the Users Meeting. Tickets are $41, and the registration deadline is Monday, May 1.
