Arriving at the APS

Once you enter Argonne, you must go to the User Office for orientation and training.

Maps and transportation information. You must enter by the main gate on Northgate Road.

Getting in the Gate
Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you will arrive at some other time (e.g., late at night or on a weekend), you must notify the User Office in advance so we can arrange for gate access.

 

  • Arrival during Normal Hours
    Go to the Argonne Information Center, located just before the main gate (North Gate) on Northgate Road. You will be asked to show identification, and then you will be given a visitor's pass.
  • Arrival after Normal Hours
     You must enter at North Gate (the
    only gate open during non-business hours). You will be asked to show identification. If you have not made arrangements in advance, you will not be allowed to enter.

Getting to the User Office
Once you enter the site, you must go directly to the User Office for orientation and training. You may not enter the experiment hall until you have completed orientation.
