ID Vacuum System Information All beamline components are ultra-high vacuum (UHV) compatible, and a vacuum level of 1 x 10-8 Torr or better is maintained everywhere. The vacuum levels along the beamline are monitored by the Beamline Equipment Protection System (BLEPS) through measurements of ion pump currents. In addition, an APS-monitored residual gas analyzer (RGA) measures the vacuum level and possible gas contaminants immediately downstream of the differential pump which separates the ring vacuum from the beamline vacuum.
