I am pleased to announce that Dr. Gabrielle Long has accepted the 
position of Associate Division Director for X-Ray Operation and 
Research in XFD, effective mid-November.  Gabrielle is a distinguished 
scientist and is widely recognized in the materials science and 
synchrotron radiation communities.  Currently she is a group leader at 
NIST and a member of UNI-CAT.

Please join me in welcoming Gabrielle into the APS family and give her 
your full support and cooperation in her new and important 
responsibilities.
