Sector 7 : Time Resolved Research Group

Sector 7 is operated by the Time Resolved Research Group, which is part of the X-ray Science Division (XSD) of the Advanced Photon Source.

Our research focus is the study of Ultrafast fs-laser excitation of matter, using x-ray scattering and spectroscopy techniques.
Sector 7 is the future home of the APS Short Pulse X-ray (SPX) beamlines, which shall deliver ps-long X-ray bunches to 7ID users in the future.
The sector developped two hard x-ray beamlines (7ID and 7BM) focused on time-resolved science.
The 7BM has been dedicated for time-resolved radiography of fuel sprays and is under commissioning.
