Fit2d
Fit2d is used to visualize and calibrate two-dimensional scattering data from area detectors. It was written by Andy Hammersley at the ESRF. Documentation and executables are available at the ESRF website given on the left.
At sector1, Fit2d is one of the tools used for analysis of area-detector data. Two popular uses are (1) using calibration/tilt functions to determine detector position and angle with respect to the x-ray incident and diffracted beams and (2) 'caking' the data from polar to cartesian coordinates, utilizing the parameters determined in (1).
The program has some capability for scripting, which can be used for example to do a given caking operation on a numbered list of files.
