  • Photo of Princeton Instruments SCX-TE/CCD1242 X 1152 pixels
  • 22.5 X 22.5 micron pixels
  • 27.5 X 25.9 mm active area
  • Thermoelectric cooling
  • Readout Noise: 4-6 electrons @ 50 kHz, 25 electrons @ 1 MHz
  • QE > 35% at 560 nm
  • MPP format with 16 bit dynamic range
  • Dark Charge @ -50 C: <0.1 electron/pixel-sec
  • Full well capacity: > 300,000 electrons for MPP

This camera is designed to for low noise operation, i.e., it is not a fast camera. Readout time is on the order of a few seconds. Note that since the purchase, Princeton Instruments has merged or been bought a couple of times. It is now owned by Roper Scientific.

(note: in image shown here, the vacuum-tight cover has been removed to show the internal detector structure, with the white GdOS phosphor on top)
