  • Competing electronic, magnetic, and orbital phases in oxides such as the cuprates
  • Low-temperature phenomena in magnetic fields (e.g. vortex-lattice coupling, metamagnetism, spin-gap materials)
  • Magnetic scattering, X-ray diffraction and diffuse scattering
  • X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism
