Beamline 4-ID-D
Hard x-ray magnetic scattering & spectroscopy

The 4-ID-D is the hard x-ray (2.5 keV -> 50 keV) branch of sector 4.  It's primary focus is on the study of magnetic using synchrotron radiation techniques. This typicaly involves the manipulation and analysis of the polarization of either incoming or scattered x-ray beams.

Current scientific interests:
  • Resonant and Non-Resonant magnetic x-ray scattering from single crystals.
  • X-ray magnetic reflectivity studies.
  • X-ray magnetic circular dichroism.
