4-ID-C

High-Resolution Polarization Dependent Spectroscopy

Welcome to the 4-ID-C homepage!

4-ID-C is a high resolution undulator beamline set to operate in the region from 500 eV to 3000 eV with the ability to select between linear and circular polarization. Current measurement capabilites include:

  • Magnetic spectroscopies using polarizedlight
  • Imaging and micro-spectroscopy with photoelectron microscopy (PEEM)

Beamline Status

This beamline is currently in the process of commissioning in sector 4

Science

The goal of this facility is to provide leading edge instrumentation that enables a wide variety of scientific studies not previously accessible. Of particular interest is the 1-3 keV region that contains a wide variety of interesting edges (see Figure below) that have remain unexplored.
