Experience / Research Interests:

  • 2001- present: Physicist, Experimental Facilities Division, Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL
    • Involved in the expansion of the high energy materials science program at beamline 1-ID through user support and implementation of focusing optics.
    • Scientificly particularly interested in in-situ characterization of single grain behavior within bulk materials during thermo-mechanical processing.
  • 1998-2000: Scientist at the ESRF Materials Science beamline, Grenoble, France.
    • Construction and commissioning of the extension station in collaboration with Risø National Lab, Denmark.
    • Particularly interested in spatially resolved stress/strain measurements.
  • 1996-1998: Post Doc at the Materials Research Department, Risø National Laboratory, Denmark.
    • Feasibility experiments applying micro-focused high energy synchrotron radiation for the local structural characterization within bulk polycrystalline materials.
  • 1994-1996: Post-Doc in the ESRF optics group, Grenoble, France.
    • Beamline scientist on the Optics Beamline assisting in R&D of a broad range of optical elements.
    • Development of high energy focusing optics.
