Subject: Beam Stop Policy

In order to ensure the integrity of the beam stops, for non-monochromatic beams in APS beamlines, it is required that the cooling water to the stop be interlocked into the beamline Personnel Safety System. The water system shall be interlocked to ensure that there is adequate coolant flow to prevent damage to the stop. The design specification and installation of the interlocks will be the responsibility of the safety and interlocks group.
