APS TECHNICAL UPDATE - No. 6
Subject: LOM Lab Roll-up Doors
The roll-up doors in the Lab Office Module (LOM) laboratories are for equipment access and are intended to be kept closed when not in active use. Two reasons for this are:
- the wall that separates the LOM from the experiment hall is a fire-resistant barrier and the door is part of this "fire-rated" wall, and
- the LOM laboratories are operated at a lower pressure than the surrounding LOM areas. This is to ensure, in cases such as an accidental spill or venting, that the gas will be exhausted from the building rather than into other occupied areas.
Please help ensure that these doors remain closed when not in active use.
