Facility
Canted ID Shutters J. Quintana:

• Air Solenoid
• New canted IDs designed to have air solenoids in tunnel to simplify air handling.
• Sector 24 solenoid failed, replaced with identical solenoid since that is what was on hand.
• Solenoids with metal parts were put in to 23 and 24 during shutdown to fix problem. 21 was not done (sector has no beamline yet).
• Limit switch springs did not have enough retention force in new design.
• Springs were manually cut down as a temporary solution. New springs are specified for the shutters.
• Spring was not replaced in 21 shutter since beamline was not working.
• Vacuum leak was suspected in Sector 24 shutter bellows.
• Shutter was replaced with Sector 21's assembly.
• Bellows failed after 29K cycles.
• On 3/17 Sector 24 (i.e. 21's) shutter failed due to spring problem.
