Information and Follow-up
User said he received a page that announced power was out at the APS. This page came through at 11:30 p.m. What triggers the auto-page?
Roger will look into what sets off the auto-page system. There were, however, only two telephone calls from users questioning the auto-page. When a page goes out that you do not understand, or need clarification regarding, contact your floor coordinator.

Safety: Roger reported discussion at OPS Directorate concerning the recently released memo regarding the accident at SLAC (memo to ANL Division Directors and Department Heads from A. Karalius, EQO, and J. Zurad, Electrical Safety Committee, calling for an immediate halt to “hot” electrical work). Greg Markovich said the electrical safety committee is in the process of drafting a memo requesting a modification to this order to allow low-voltage level work to be performed.
Bruce Glagola said that the overtime budget looks dismal; he will not schedule radioactive sample work on weekends. Nena Velamparampil was introduced to the group. As User Experiment Safety Program staff, she will be handling experiment approvals (especially biological approvals).
