Information and Follow-up

User asked what it takes to get listed on the beamline downtime report. Beamline (7-ID) failed last Tuesday afternoon but is not listed.

Roger replied that Floor Coordinators enter information into the system. Hell find out how to get these occurrences in the system.

 

General Information

Machine Status R. Klaffky:  Roger presented the following stats for Run 2-03 (0800 6/23/03):  delivered beam 516 hours, 93.46% of scheduled time, 36.08 hours downtime during period, and 28.66 hours mean time between faults (MTBF). 

Machine faults:

#24 06/17 16:28 to 06/17 18:43 / 2.26 hrs. // RAD monitor fault // 0.36 refill
#25 06/17 19:09 to 06/18 01:22 / 6.29 hrs. // 20BM EPS fault / 2.98 refill

Safety E. Chang:  Elroy introduced Phil Colleran, former OSHA Inspector. Phil is available to visit CAT personnel to offer with pre-inspection suggestions. Contact Elroy at x-6714 if you wish to schedule a visit to your CAT.

Secon 1 emergency plan for Sector 2 has been created. We can now devise a template that can be accommodated as necessary to other sectors. We can assist in plan preparation, but it is up to the CATs to add specifications to their individual plan.

Regarding Machine Shop training, sessions are now forming with 15-20 people expected per session. If you would like to register for training, contact E. Chang, x-6714.

Sample Preparation and Characterization Lab Survey:  Roger showed a viewgraph of the "Survey Form for Sample Preparation and Characterization Lab." The survey will be sent to CATs by way of CAT-net email, and will also be included in the next APS User Newsletter. Please take a moment to read and reply to the survey.
