CAT Chat Minutes
October 30, 1998
1. Will long-term storage areas for the CATs be made available in the near future?
Yes. We are in the process of clearing out a building in the 300 area and will provide storage space for the users. There is no clear schedule as yet as to when this space will become available. We will keep you informed.
2. Will the users need to pay rent on the use of this space?
We are still working out the details of the cost of renting this space and how the costs will be distributed.
3. Is there someone who can inform us of when the janitors will be waxing the hallways? This is very inconvenient when the beam is up and running.
We had requested that the custodial personnel coordinate their activities through the floor coordinators. We will inform them again of the need for preplanning their activities through the floor coordinators.
The overall efficiency for the run this week is about 87%. Several blocks of downtime occurred primarily due to storage ring power supplies and rf. A BPM problem caused some random beam instabilities, but it was located and corrected.
