General sessions will be held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the APS conference center, Bldg. 402. Exhibits will be in the center's lower level, and the reception/poster session will be held in the tent on the center's lower-level patio. Workshop locations will be listed in the program book and posted at the meeting. Maps of the APS site and conference center will also be available during registration.
The conference fee includes coffee breaks on Tuesday through Thursday, the reception/poster session on Tuesday evening, and the conference reception/banquet on Wednesday. Buffet lunches will be served Tuesday through Thursday on the lower-level conference center patio. Tickets for lunches ($5.00 apiece) must be ordered in advance on the conference registration form. The Argonne Cafeteria is open for lunch; the Argonne Guest House (located nearby) is open for lunch and dinner. In addition, a list of local restaurants will be available at registration.
Pay telephones are located in the atrium of Bldg. 401 (the APS central laboratory/office building) and on the lower level of Bldg. 402 (the APS conference center). Messages can be left at the registration desk; the telephone numbers there are 630/252-9580 and 630/252-9581. The messages will be posted on a bulletin board by the entrance to the lecture hall. If you need to send or receive a fax, a fax machine is located in Bldg. 401, B1154 (the APS User Office). The number of this machine is 630/252-9250. Computer terminals are set up in the Bldg. 401 atrium for you to use to log on to your home computer.
Bus transportation will be provided for the conference banquet, and a shuttle bus will be available to provide service to the conference hotels (Argonne Guest House and Baymont Inn). Limousine reservations can be made for you during the meeting by conference staff.
An automated teller machine is located in the User Lounge area of Bldg. 401. This machine accepts the following cards: American Express, Discover/Novus, The Exchange, Master Card, Plus, Visa, and 24 Access.
