Description
Beamline 8-ID-I applies x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) or x-ray intensity fluctuation spectroscopy (XIFS) to the study of equilibrium fluctuations and fluctuations about the evolution to equilibrium in condensed matter in the small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) geometry. In collaboration with beamline staff, specialized applications of small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) such as pinhole geometry near ultra-SAXS (USAXS) or time-resolved- (TR-) SAXS is also performed. The beamline optics are optimized for stability, brilliance preservation and minimal parasitic scattering.
