Beamline Committees
Those working at the APS are expected to assure that their work is free of recognized hazards. As such they are expected take the initiative to arrange for assistance in evaluating their work as needed. The following beamline committees are one resource for meeting these evaulation needs. The committee membership includes division ES&H coordinators and a broad spectrum of individuals from all APS organization levels. A staggered turnover of members maintains continuity.
Beamline Safety Design Review Steering Committee
Oversees the review of all safety aspects related to designs for beamlines and front end critical components, and safety and facility operational issues associated with beamline designs done by non-APS designers/engineers.
Beamline Commissioning Readiness Team (BCRRT)
Ensures beamlines can safely start commissioning.

Validates shielding.

Safety Review Board (ESRB)
Review and authorize user experiment hazard control plans.

Sample Safety
Review Committee (RSSRC)
Coordinate safety for beamline radioactive samples.
Safety Plan Review Committee
Advises the AES Division Director on the completeness of APS Beamline (CAT) ES&H Plans. The SPRC reviews each CAT’s environment, safety, and health plan, and provides feedback directly to the CAT for enhancements or revisions.
