Global Online OBJECTIVE Floor Coordinators may be called upon to alter the Global Online status of a beamline. Upon completion of this module, the FC should understand the importance of Global Online and feel comfortable executing the steps to take a beamline offline and subsequently restore Global Online status.
Global Online is a system by which
the FC grants permission for a particular beamline to run.
In order for a beamline to be placed Globally Online, both the machine protection system (ACIS) and the personnel safety system (PSS) must agree that it is safe for beam to enter the front end. |
