Survey and Alignment: Top-Up Operation

Click here to download an interactive .DWF file containing surveyed beam lines ready for top-up operation.

The drawing shows the bending magnet (BM-n) and insertion device (ID-n) beam lines. Green beam line labels indicate that the placement of the safety shutter at the front end of this line has been surveyed, while red labels show the beam lines that still require the measurement of the position of the safety shutter.

Clicking on a green beam line label brings up a graphical representation of the measurement results. These graphs show the deviations of the storage ring multipoles with respect to their ideal location in blue, while red markers represent the safety shutter location. Tolerance limits for the placement of these components are also shown in their respective colors. A beam line that shows all multipoles and safety shutter positions within the tolerance limits is deemed to be safe for top-up operation.
