Anti-Spam Migration

APS is migrating from the local anti-spam IronMail appliance to the CIS IronPort appliance. IronPort will send you an email message at 6am every morning if spam email has been quarantined.

  PC Helps

Argonne has contracted additional support with PCHelps for a large variety of applications that range anywhere from blackberry to IE to the Microsoft Office suite. You can submit questions or problems online or call them directly at 630-252-9999. option 1. They are available 24 x 7.

  IT Emergency Phone Number

The Information Technology Group emergency phone number is 2-9700 (630-252-9700).

The IT group phone number is used for urgent requests or if you do not have access to the Support Request System from Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

  Beware of Social Engineering

• Never give your password to anyone, including IT administrators.
• Don't use CDs or DVDs that are sent to you unless you are expecting them - bring them to APS IT for testing.
• Don't use USB thumb drives that you find or are sent to you unsolicited bring them to APS IT for testing.
• Any of these could result in your computer being hacked.

Computer Room Under Construction

After 15 years of operations the APS computer room is under construction in order to improve cooling, add additional power, and improve in-row lighting for safety.
